So let me catch you up. The week before we went to the beach, James had an ear infection, strept throat, and hand, foot, and mouth. Yes, go ahead and say it "Really!!" Luckily.. the second antibiotic knocked the ear infection out and the other stuff took its time but was gone before we got to the beach. The beach this year was a blast!!! James and Ansley had so much fun. Bob and I even got chill time. I had been dreading the car trip both ways..the kids proved me wrong. Thank goodness for the minivan. I don't know what we would have done without it. The kids watched every movie and show we own. Once down at the beach we indulged in the sun. We would get out onto the beach around 8 and play for about 1-2 hours and then head back to the pool for some more fun! I have to send a thank you note to One step ahead for their wonderful swim body suits. Kept my babies sun free. If you don't have one you need it. We would come in from playing and take naps and that is when mommy got to get some sun. The afternoon would consist of more swimming and hanging out!Ansley got to watch the fishermen catch numerous fish and she even got to see a baby shark. Both of the kids really enjoyed seeing all the birds! We took them to the bird sanctuary that was around the corner from the house. Very smelly and gross but Ansley loved it. James wasn't took cool with the sand getting in his shoes.
While at the beach the kids of course learned numerous things. James learned no fear of the pool. He enjoyed reminding mommy not to turn and speak to anyone while in the pool. He learned how to blow bubbles and put his face in. We have been working with Ansley to become a better swimmer. James loves to do exactly what sister does. So when she would kick he would kick. The only thing he wasn't cool with was floating on his back. It is tons of fun having two that love the water!!
Ansley showed us how much of a sponge she is right now. I always use to wonder how Ansley is going to tell her two grandads apart. She has her own little style.."Grandma's grandaddy has white hair." For Bob's dad she will say GranDonna's Grandaddy..it just cracks me up.
