Fish to dolphin in a week

My fish has turn into a dolphin. Ansley could not get enough of the pool when we were at the beach. We had a private pool at the beach so the kids were in heaven. Ansley has done really well at swim lessons this year. Bob and she worked really hard at the pool on swimming. Ansley wore herself out. She loved every minute. Bob had her swimming under the water all over the pool. She started using her arms to swim. Here is a video.

James was encouraged by seeing his sister swim all over the place that he started swimming everywhere with his vest on. He enjoyed just floating in the middle of the pool.

Beach trip

On Saturday we headed down to Destin, FL. with my parents and sister. We sent the boys to one car and Caroline and I kept all the girls in my car. You can only imagine which car was the loudest. At one point Hannah was screaming, Frances was talking, and Ansley had her ears covered and humming. We got the privalege of hearing Frances take on the world the entire way down. That would be 7 hours. She fell asleep 10 minutes before we made it to the house. Those minutes were lovely. Of course, Ansley tried to make up for Frances sleeping but she just couldn't do it. I did find out that I must say actually a lot!

Our house is amazing. We have three different levels where we can spread out and have enough room to spread the 5 kids out. We have to kitchens and enough TVs so we can divide and conquer the boys and girls.
Once we got settled we piled the kids into the golf cart and headed to the beach before bedtime. I think the kids had as much fun as the grandparents.












As the days went we got into a routine of beach from 7-9 then the pool from 9-10:30. We would go back have lunch and relax. After nap time, we would head back out to the pool or beach.

Ansley started swim lessons last week at Seaventures! She is loving it. She has always taken lessons from the YMCA but she just seemed to not be getting anywhere with her ability to swim. So we took a different route. She has had two lessons and has given up her floaty so she can go under the water. Bob has been working really hard with her at night at the pool. Next step to let go and swim.

Wednesday: She had been awake for 5 mins. The goggles were on!


Thursday: Ansley used the noodle to swim to her instructor. She jumped off the side of the pool and went under!!

I have written a couple posts about Ansley and her bugs. She has kept one alive for a week now. She asked every morning if she can take the Rollie pollie outside and play with it (she is not allowed to take them out in the house). While I was cleaning up the kitchen she and James were outside holding the bug and letting it climb all over them. They are giggling and having a great time. Next thing I know Ansley is screaming. The Rollie pollie fell off her and down between the porch boards which means it fell from the porch to the concrete. Outlook not so good!!! I was really trying not to laugh and have a sympathetic face. But it was incredibly hard. After searching for a needle in a hay stack we got our shovels and headed out to dig in our pajamas for bugs. We hit the jack pot and found a snail too! My mom got Ansley a really cool bug catcher so I think we are in the bug business for a while.

Baby #3 update

This week I have had the pleasure if working VBS. Loads of fun but didn't know I could be so tired after 3 hours! The kids were exhausted and took great naps.
On Wednesday, I had my 13 week ultrasound. The little one was moving around and waving to us tons. I am starting to feel the flutters right where the baby is sitting. For some reason this pregnancy still doesn't seem real. As I sat there looking at the ultra sound it was unreal how big the baby has gotten. Below are two pictures of baby 3.






When I dropped Ansley off she gave me strict instructions to make sure that the doctor tells me what the baby is. She gets that this process is going to take a while but she is a little bit bitter that she doesn't know what the sex is. I am hoping it is a girl because she is convinced it is a girl. I don't think she will have a problem with a boy as long as we bring home a baby. I wish I had gotten a video of she and James with Hannah this morning. I am going to need a body guard for this baby. Maybe I can train Oscar although James has that dog wrapped around his pinky! This morning I walked into my room to find Oscar on the bed with James sitting on him watching tv. Poor dog.

Bugs.. Rollie pollies

Ansley has had an obsession for Rollie pollies for about a month now. She got one from my parents house in May. She ended up putting it in her Easter basket. It pained me to know that the poor bug was not going to make it through the night. Well I guess the bug new it needed to get out because that night it disappeared. I had a feeling this might cause tears in the morning but I was too tired to do anything about it. Well around 5:00am the scream and tears came too. I promised her after school we would stop by grandmas and get more. Not sure why she thinks they only come from my parents house. So we stopped and got some new ones. This time my mom gave her a bug catcher to keep them in. These bugs lasted for 6 days until cousin Thomas decided to make a swimming pool out of their cage. Once I dried the cage out they lasted for another day but then passed on. She didn't notice so I didn't say much. We headed up to the lake for the weekend. She didn't remember the bugs until Wednesday at bedtime. So I told her to stay in bed and I will go and get them knowing they were bellied up!! I got on my shoes and gardening tools and headed outside to get some bugs. After looking under three rocks I found one. Then I moved to to backyard and found two more... Jackpot!! I put some dirt and grass and headed into the house. I took the bugs to Ansley. Boy was she pumped to see her bugs. She was even more excited to see that they had a baby. Guess I should have done a head count of the dead ones. We are on day 5 of these new ones and after being held and dropped I think they two have fallen into a deep sleep. It is time to find a new hobby. Although these bugs are pretty cheap!
