Easter weekend

We started off the weekend by heading down to Bobby Dodds stadium for the Jackets spring game!! We hit up the kid alley where we ran into buzz.



That didn't go over so well. Buzz is fun far away but scary close up. That ruined the kids zone for them. I have to say they get it honestly, I was scared crazy of people dressed in costume. Disney characters were a nightmare for me.
The game started and so did the food intake.









The kids had a good time and fell asleep on the way home so you know what that means... No naps!! Lucky for us we have a great babysitter, Maddie, who watch the tired kids so we could go out and celebrate our 7th anniversary. Bob got me some beautiful James Avery earrings!! When we came home the house was so quiet. The kids were asleep and mommy was happy!!
Sunday was a joyful day!! Church service was outstanding!! Unfortunately, my good camera broke just in time for Easter!! It is never good when it falls out of the camera case onto the floor. BIG Oops!!! So I only have two pictures of James. My sister took a few at the club so hopefully I can get those soon so you can see how pretty Ansley looked.

Dad's birthday

My dad's birthday was on the 13th. We got together for an Easter egg hunt and then to celebrate his birthday. It was nice to have Terri in town for the party. All the kids behaved well. Hannah even liked me today. She is beginning to understand how cool I am. We got my dad a new set of clubs since he lives at the club.

I learned tonight that candles don't do well on cookie cakes. The kids all came running to help Grandaddy blow out his candles.

I seem to have a complex with Hannah. Every time I sit down to play with her she sticks out her lower lip and slowly screams. I think she has finally gotten the hint! Not hating on Auntie today!!

Saturday at the Grandparent's house

So after we played at the Forum we headed over my parents house. We had been kicked out of our house because we had a showing which is great but it is always during nap time. The kids both ate lunch and took over 2 hour naps!! We had a very quiet afternoon. Caroline's family showed up after naps for the neighborhood Easter egg hunt and my Dads birthday.










The boys are ready. Boy could they clean up the Easter eggs. They beat all weak kids!!

After the hunt James went running to show his loot and ended up busting. However, no tears!!! Got up and cleaned the eggs up like someone was going to steal them.

Community day at the Forum

Today was so pretty but very windy!! We headed over to the Forum to burn some energy.









I am pretty sure James thought he was fly fishing.

Mexico

So last week we dragged our lazy butts to Playa del Carmen for my girlfriends wedding. Jaime was my college roommate. We were glued together until she met a guy named Eric. Luckily for her, I love Eric. Caroline and I loved him so much that we even went on a cruise with him our first senior year. After 12 years of dating they finally decided to make it official so there was no way we were going to miss this wedding.
This was our introduction to Mexico!

Finds

I took the day off to spend it with my sister Terri. Ansley played hooky from school. We started the day off at Lakewood Antiques. Ansley was such a good shopper. Her little legs might be hurting tonight. I found an end table for my living room which I bargained and got $15 dollars off!


This was the best buy of all.



I really could have bought a lot more. There was still one outside section that I didn't get too. But by the time we finished inside it was lunchtime. We ended the day at the forum and then Taco Mac with the rest of the family.

Ansley's decorating style

This is the battle I fight daily. To most it looks like a table with accessories, to me it is craziness.


Here is a bigger view. You may wonder what is the big deal. The big deal is that I think the room is looking collected so in case there is a last minute call it is ready.
My daughter insist on decorating the table with all the seat covers piled onto one chair, all the place mats stacked, and the fruit bowl on top near the edge of the table. This happens right after I have left the room. Within minutes of me leaving the room. I am thankful that she has this style not a "throw it all over" like her brother.

Big boy

I have big bragging rights tonight! Today I was in the kitchen trying to figure out dinner, James came running to me saying he needed to potty. I told him to go get the froggy potty. So he got it and took it into the bathroom Ansley uses. He sat down and went potty!! So out came the jelly blue jelly bean. I gave him the choice of a diaper or pull up( a pink princess one that was left over from Ansley). He chose the pull up. Now when I really start potty boot camp this summer there will not be pull ups involved. Those things are point less and they teach the kids nothing!!! It is made for lazy potty training. In my book pull ups are for night time use only. Enough of my soap box. After bath time James got out and went straight to the potty and peed. Yet again Ansley was right there cheering him on. So off we went to the jelly bean drawer and got a blue one! Below is a picture of him sitting on this throne.



I can loan Ansley out for a price if you need potty training. It also helps that James worships the ground she walks on!!

Spring break with grandparents

While Bob and I were pretending like we could party like we were back in college in Mexico with my two favorite TCU peeps the kids were back in GA partying it up with the in laws!!!!
Ansley informed them of some of the rules I enforce...such as I don't allow Ansley to finish her dinner. Thanks Ans!!! It is more like me begging her to finish dinner. The actual rule is that you must take a no thank you bite. All veggies.. You have to take as many bites as your age.
The kids had a fabulous time. They went to ice cream with all the grandparents and two of Caroline's kids on Friday. I especially lovemy daughters outfit!!!


Then Saturday they went to Stone Mountain.

On Sunday the kids headed to church for an Easter egg hunt.













Ansley managed to eat most of hers before the end of the day. I thin she may have pulled one over on the grandparents. We are so thankful to have all the grandparents in town. Than you Donna and Richard!!
