Beautiful Dress for a Beautiful Girl!

Ansley is finally tall enough to wear some of my dresses that my Mom and Aunt made for me. I think this dress is so pretty on her!! Of course James wanted to have a cameo.

Another great day Saturday to write about. We got up after 7 (which is always a plus) and headed out to Peachtree Dekalb Airport. They have a great playground right next to the runway. We got to see 3 passenger jets take off and at least 5 other smaller plans take off. The kids really liked seeing two helicopters take off. James was definitely in heaven!! He has always stopped whatever he is doing to see an airplane flying by. I am thinking this might be the perfect 2 year old birthday spot!!

After leaving the playground we headed to Costco. Groceries and princess shoes later we were heading home. It is impossible to leave Costco without at least 3 extra things that were not on the list nor were they needed. The kids enjoyed the free samples and kept us sane for most of the trip. The moment Ansley set her eyes on her princess shoes (the extra item bought at costco) she did not let go. The entire car ride home she held onto the package. She got home and ripped into it. Then proceeded to take them upstairs, along with her brother. Needless to say he can walk pretty good in heals. I took a picture but for some reason Bob threatened to delete my blog if the picture was posted. No worries it will make it after I publish the blog!!

We are still trying to teach her it is not the best practice to not look straight ahead. She has only run her brother over once.

Back to school days!

I know it has been a while since I have posted. We are back in full swing of school these days!! Ansley is still loving Pre-K and James has decided he likes going to school. No more crying in the morning. More like how fast can I get to Ms. Amanda and the fish tank.
Ansley has started to learn her phone number and address this week. She was so excited when I picked her up today because she got a letter from Mommy and Daddy. She ran to her locker to get her letter. We have been reading it to her all night. It is amazing how a letter can make a 4 year olds day!!!
James has really become interested in the potty. I have not been pushing this potty thing just letting it come to. He told me on Sunday that he needed to pee pee. We were headed to the bath anyway so I took off his diaper and told him to go stand by the potty. I finished stacking up the clothes..unfortuntately I did not make it in there within 10 seconds. He came back to find me then proceeded to tell me that he needed to pee pee. Yep, then I saw the river open up...all over my carpet!!!! Awesome. Next time I will be right behind him on the way to the potty. Lesson learned.

Crazy Weekend

We put our house back on the market on Thursday!! Over the weekend we had three lookers!!! Yay. Our house is so clean it is awesome. We are back in the routine of cleaning before bed and leaving the house spotless in the morning.
We had a great weekend with tons of family. We got to eat dinner with my family two nights out of the weekend. Grandma Phyllis turned 83 on Saturday so we headed down to Peachtree City to play with the family. It was a great party. I took my camera but failed to put the card back in. Luckily a lot of the family got some good pictures. James and Ansley got enough sugar for the month but they enjoyed seeing everyone.
On Sunday we hung around the house and played with some of Ansley's birthday toys. I decided it was a good time to pull out the play dough cake. I was hesitant but decided it would be something fun. Unfortunately I didn't use my brain and realize what a great mess play dough and a 4 year old make! Bob was watching the Braves, James was sleeping, Ansley and I were playing play dough! I decided I needed a short little nap so I left Ansley to her cake making. I did manage to get a cute quote from her.
Me: OK, you cool if Mommy goes and lays down for a few minutes.
Ansley: No
Me: Why?
Ansley: Mommy it's not cool in here. The air conditioner is not on.

I finally lay down in bed knowing I had an hour before James woke up. The moment my head hits the pillow, our agent called to let me know someone wanted to come see the house which gave me two hours to clean the gross play dough that was stuck to the floor,chairs, and table. With the help of Bob and Ansley we were out the door with 15 minutes to spare!!! Go team.

I have decided that it is time to take control of the grocery list. My new passion for the month is to try and buy as many groceries as we can at a farmer's market. The kids and I hit the Alpharetta Farmer's Market. It was so quick and easy. James even got a free carrot. When I got the veggies and fruit home I prepared them for the week. Talk about mouth watering. Everything I got was delicious!!! We are going to check out the Dekalb Farmer's Market this weekend!!!!

Ansley's 4 year old check up!

On Friday Daddy took Ansley to her 4 year old check up with Dr. Wilburn. Her stats are below:
Weight: 39 pounds which falls in the 75-90 percentile
Height: 41 3/4 which falls in the 90 percentile
She ended up getting her MMR and Varicella! She was not happy about the shots but was a brave little girl! Once she got her lollipop and ice cream she was good to go.
She has been milking the shots all weekend. It is kind of funny! "Mommy my leg hurts..I think it is from the shots", "Mommy I can't wear that it will make my legs hurt." I love listening to her.

Birthday Girl!!

My princess turned 4 last Sunday! We celebrated her birthday at the pool with our close friends and family. Ansley did invite her classroom friends. She enjoyed playing with everyone. She asked me daily if she is still 4 years old. I do have to say the birthday cake we had was the best cake I have had!!!! (besides my dads homemade cake).
This year she has learned so much:
1) She can write all her capital letters. She is a pro at writing her name.

2) Dress up clothes have become a daily occurrence!

3) Clothes shopping takes place in the girls department now
4) There are never enough dolls in the house.
5) She loves when daddy puts her to bed.
6) Frances is her best friend.

First ride on the Carousel!!

We met Addison and Avery at the mall on Friday. I like to steer clear of the mall with my little people. We hit up the play area which was really nice. However, it was extremely crowded.  Having two running in different directions is scary in a crowd. After a little bit of play time, we headed up to the food court to eat. Well, James enjoyed his food but Ansley only had eyes for the Carousel! After about 100 questions on when are we going to ride the Carousel, we finally rode it. The eyes were big and the smiles were huge!! Then it was time to get off. James lost his mind. He did not understand why I couldn't just leave him there to ride all day! These pictures are from before the melt down (sorry the pictures are blurry I had to use my iphone).

Toddler Bed

Well it happened. We put a toddler bed in James room. Not because he was crawling out or that mommy was ready but because he and Daddy went on a field trip to Babies R Us and came home with fun stuff. He has been doing very well in the bed. Pretty sure he fell out of it at 4 am this morning. But he got right back up and went to sleep. I am not sure I like this big boy bed idea yet. I can talk a big game but it is a different story when it actually happens. The crib is still up in his room in case it is needed. Thank goodness he has a big room!

Early Birthday Present

My parents came over for dinner so they brought Ansley's birthday present which I had my dad put together. She got a Toy Story bike. We started with a 12 inch so she would feel comfortable riding the bike. She is big into toy story right now so she got a blue toy story bike. Of course I would have preferred a pink one but this works out that James can have it next year. Of course after dinner and bath we took her out to see her new bike. She was a little hesistant at first, her brother did not skip a beat. He wanted on that bike the moment he saw it! He has since settled with the pink and purple tricycle! This morning Ansley woke up and immediately wanted to go out and ride her bike. All three of us were out there in our pajamas riding bikes. Too cute!! Now if the weather would just decide to cooperate and cool down it would be nice!

Kids are back at school!!

Monday Ansley and James started a new year at Mt. Pisgah! Ansley moved to the 4's room (prek) and James is in the older 1's room. Ansley's teacher is a parent of a kid I went to high school with. She is a great teacher and Ansley is so excited about school!! She keeps asking daily when she gets to go on field trips. That unfortunately doesn't start for 4 more weeks. I had to break the news to her that she is not riding the big yellow school bus instead she has to ride the white short bus. No worries I will post pictures of her signing in when she arrives. It is too cute!!
James has a great teacher too. Ms. Amanda was Frances first teacher when she started at Mt. Pisgah. I am so pumped. He got moved in with the older kids which is where he needs to be developmentally! His first day Ms. Amanda said that he had a great day and was so sweet. However, he told them all morning that he didn't want to do anything aka "no, don wana." That seems to be his new phrase lately. We must be hitting the twos nice and early!  He was a champ when it came to sleeping on the cot! He did give me the cold shoulder for a good 20 minutes when we got home. He was not happy with mommy! He has since gotten over that and loves everything I do (most of the time).
Now for mommy...mommy had a really rough day. I must have let the rivers flow for most of the morning. I was a mess. The kids get an A for the day and I get an F. I didn't think it would hit me that hard but it did. Luckily, I was all dried up when I picked them up! I am still on vacation for another week so I think the kids will be playing hooky a couple days until I go back.
