Catch up

I promise my next post will be about Christmas!! These past three weeks have flown by. James and Ansley are doing a great job helping with Henry. Ansley will hold him when I am making a bottle and James will sing to him. Christmas day reflux caught up to Henry. Not sure why I thought we would have a baby without it. Since I am giving him breast milk I am now on a no dairy diet again! Goodbye ice cream for a year! I took him to the doctor this week. He now weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces!! Definitely not missing a meal. However, the doctor got to see him eat and gave me a thumbs up on reflux. Unfortunately we have to try Zantac before Prevacid so insurance will pay for it. We started it yesterday and not working. Poor baby is in so much pain today. I will be making the frantic mommy call to the doctor tomorrow.
Otherwise, Henry sleeps for almost 5 hour stretches and is really a great baby! Our family is settling into a good new routine!

First Bath at hospital and home

Not sure if I have mentioned this in my previous blogs but this is the same lady that gave Ansley her first bath. She is a character!!

Today Henry's umbilical cord fell off (which I found stuck to his outfit...gross) so it was time for a bath at home. Ansley has been dying to give him a bath. We had to make due with a pot as his tub because I failed to get one.

 Ansley did a great job washing his hair. James enjoyed watching but really liked playing in the sink.

Sneak Peak

Caroline has been taking photography classes. She took one on newborns last month. She has been experimenting with Henry! The pictures turned out amazing. Here are just a couple of the pictures she got of him.

James 3rd Birthday!!

We celebrated James' birthday at the begining of this month due to the fact we were unsure of Henry's arrival date. He partied like a rock star with a few kids his age. There wasn't one place in this house and outside that the kids didn't explore. James has been on a birthday high for about 2 weeks. Friday was his actual birthday. Here are some pictures of our sweet Tank!!

A week in review

Over this past week Henry has blended very nicely into our family. The kids are still over the moon with excitement having him around. They tend to his every need. He has gotten into a pretty good routine. He loves to eat. I just moved him up to 3.5 ounces of milk every 3 hours. He has just started bump feedings at night. Last night he went 4 1/2 hours between feeds. Overall he sleeps, eats, and poops very well! Going from 2 kids to 3 kids has been much easier than exepected.
Henry did not have to go back on the Billi bed when we got home. His levels only peaked to a 14 on Wednesday. We only went to Northside hospital three times to get his foot pricked. By Wednesday he just slept through it. His poor heals are all bruised up. When we left the hospital he weighed 7'4 when we went to the doctor on Thursday he was back up to his birth weight!! Well at 1:30 yesterday Henry became a glowing baby or as one of my friends said a glow worm. His levels were low only at a 5.6. James and Ansley were a bit higher at that time. He got on the billi bed immediately. He is a great baby to nurse, however formula seems to be making him poop more so he has been getting more formula lately. He spent the night in the nursery so we could get a good night sleep which consisted of 8 hours. Thanks to my mom who brought us one of the kids sleep machine!! Take that all you parents who kept the babies in their room last night! Henry ended up peeing, puking, and pooping all over the nursery!! He fits right in with his brother. He is back in the nursery getting his penciled sharpened. Hopefully we will be discharged later today! Here are some more pictures of the little guy.

Henry Charles

We welcomed Henry into our family today. By far the easiest delivery. Of course, if a watermelon was your second baby and the third was only a grapefruit it would have to be easier. He was transverse inside of me which means he was sideways this morning. That is pretty much the worst place to be for a c-section. Luckily the doctors didn't tell me that until after she turned him. Two if my doctors were able to turn him externally. Which consisted of one doctor at the head and one at his butt and then pushing him into the right position. They gave me an epideral and some uterus relaxing drugs first thankfully. Turning him was really cool to see. Without the drugs I don't see it being that fun. This isn't usually that successful but it worked!!!! After they turned him they strapped my belly down in hopes he wouldn't turn back. Henry was an active inside of me especially this morning when I wasn't allowed to eat. Here is a picture of my belly strapped down.




Henry stats were 7'11 and 20 inches long. He has the tiniest head along with dirty blond hair. He came out angry. Once I got some food in him he was content. Ansley and James came to the hospital just after his bath. They loved him. James called him hungry at first but after some practice he got the name right. He kept pointing to my belly and saying baby not in there anymore then turning and pointing to Henry while saying there he is. He just kept saying this over an over again throughout my hospital stay. Ansley loved holding him. She kept saying I just love him he is so cute. Here is a sneak peak of a couple pictures. More to come.

Making it mine

I love my new house and Etsy which make for a dangerous combo. Plus I can't stop with playing on Pinterest. With my 5 star hotel stay coming up which I consider a mini vacation (hospital stay), l might need help controlling myself. And yes, I will stay until they kick me out. Here is my latest decor in the breakfast nook.

A precious gift

Ansley and James got a special gift last Christmas from Great Grandma. Earlier this year she moved up to heaven to be with Mya(our old cat). This is how Ansley explains it! She left us a precious gift which everyone should think about doing. She a
got the book The night before Christmas and recorded herself reading it. Well I pulled them out for the kids to enjoy. Ansley loves her book. She and Bob listen to it every night. She is even taking it to show and tell. James thinks it is funny because it says his name at the beginning of the book. What a wonderful gift to give to a family member. The kids may not remember visiting her but they will always have her sweet voice!

Bowling

Thanks Aunt Wendy, Uncle Tom, Leanne, and Paige. He enjoyed his bowling kit. As I was walking upstairs I hear Bob telling James to lay down and using him as a human bowling ball! Oh dear!!

Baby boy update

We went to the doctor again today. He is still breech and camera shy. This time he was hiding his face with his hands. The tech said he looks like a future boxer. We managed to get a couple pictures of his face today. It still looks like he has tons of hair. He has a chubby face. His hands seem to stay at his head along with his feet.

We still have a c-section planned for Friday at 8am. Dr. Siegel is going to try and turn him. He has a good amount of fluid around him she was even able to push him from one side to the other side today. She feels good about trying this technique. She can't do it until he is hooked up to monitors. If there was an option C out there I could sure use it now!!! I am not cool with my options but it is out of my control . I have to keep reminding myself of that. All the pre-registration is done. I went and got my blood work done today so I now have a beautiful new red bracelet on that has my birthday, age, and name on it just in case I have moments of prego brain.
