As a mom alone time is rare. However, it seems that lately even my shower time is full of kid adventures. Not to get too graphic but it seems to bring my kids bowel movements out. Ansley gave me numerous reasons at the lake to lock the doors when I shower. One day she came rushing in having to poop. Therefore I had to smell that awesome smell in a steamy bathroom. Unfortunately it was at the beginning of my shower. I think the winner of the week however is James. When I shower he gets to play in the car saucer. He had been fussy all morning so I decided it was time to change locations. While I was showering I noticed him turning all shades of red. I was relieved to know that he had been trying to poop and just needed saucer time. Getting out of the shower I was expecting the smell however I got another wonderful surprise. I notice something on the bottom of his saucer...yes check out the picture.
(this is not for the weak stomach...Kelley:)

Yes, that is nasty gross, gag reflex poop!!! Not only had he done his business but his feet were just slipping and jumping all in it. The only thing I could do was sit back and laugh and of course take a picture to share with everyone. I had to scrub that boys toes. He got two baths not including the baby wipe bath. Hope you enjoyed reliving the moment with me.

Happy Birthday Bob!!

Today is our last full day at the lake. We decided to get out the tube and skiis. It has been like spring time weather up at the mountains and we all know that I don't get in the water until it is hot!! Ansley loved tubing but wasn't much of a fan of me skiing.

Hillside Orchard Farms.

I know that I have been posting a lot this week. It is much easier to upload pictures on vacation plus I have Grandad and GranDonna to play with the munchkins. On Thursday my parents came up to the cabin and spent two nights here. The men went to play golf at Waterfalls and the rest of us took the kids to the Orchard Hills Farm. It was such an awesome farm. We had so much fun plus we were pretty much the only people there. We went for the petting farm but ended up picking the sweetest Blackberries. While we were out picking berries Ansley said she needed to potty. You know you are in trouble when that happens. She learned how to pee in the grass. Then I see a sign on the way out saying the place is surveillance. Since being taught how to pee in the woods Ansley has made numerous trips. She was in the hot tub today and decided she had to go. She saw Oscar heading to the pine straw so she just said she would go pee with him. Well he was done before she made it down the hill. So she found her own spot. While going she started laughing at herself and yelled "look mom it is like Oscar." Enough said.
The farm animals were so well taken care of and so much fun. Ansley's favorite animal in the barn were the little chickens. She got to feed them. They had so many different types of bunnies too. They had the names above on a board. There was a lion bunny. The hair on that bunny was out of control. The pigs were huge. I don't think I have ever seen such a well endowed pig before..enough said check out the picture. I would suggest going to this farm. It is near Tiger Mountain Winery.

Lake walking

I guess this is the first step to walking. He is a crazy backward driver.

Weekend get away

Besides sleep in we did go out and do a few things while childless. We of course took a boat ride over to Laprades, went for a run with Oscar, and then had dinner at Waterfalls. Below are some pictures from our dinner.

9 things that make boys different than girls

Everyday I learn more and more what little boys are made of....Today I started laughing at the amount of noise James can make out of nothing.
1. Just walking into the bathroom causes squeals and excitement. The bathroom echos so what can be better than the noise that can be made.
2. Splashing water just gets better. Plus it makes mom get really wet.
3. Kitchen tools are the best to play with.
4. I only have eyes for mommy when I get to be around 7 months.
5. There is always a toy attached to thier body.
6. Getting ice from the refrigerator machine catches a little boys attention especially when they are crying. It is amazing how the tears dry up.
7. Holding a bottle is at the bottom of the to do list.
8. Seeing mommy walk through the room can send a bucket of tears and an ear piercing scream.
9. Bouncing a ball can cause belly laughing.
And this is only 7 months of having a boy around.

So we made it through the weekend with 2 additional kids. Luckily, Sarah is 12 and Katie is 9 so they were able to help out. I am pretty sure they are going to sleep for a week. Ansley considered them her personal assistants. Some recent updates about our zoo. Ansley's sassy attitude has started to slow down. She has been using her manners again. She has even been saying yes ma'am and no sir. Not to any of our doings. I asked her who she learned that from she informed me it was from Mrs. Alethea (her teacher). That is why we pay the big bucks at Mt. Pisgah!! Have I mentioned how much I love her being at school two days a week. I am pretty sure she was rebelling last month because I had pulled her out for a month. James has gotten the stranger danger scream down. He has started to pick favorites. On Saturday James started saying momma. Then on Sunday people at church got him to use the "B" sound. He beginning to get frustrated because he can't crawl yet. Unfortunately, he does not like to be on his stomach he would rather stand. Yet he gets frustrated when he can't get to things. He has discovered his Johnny jumper. He loves it. Check out the video below.

Happy Fourth of July

Traveling with two kids anywhere is an adventure. But I think this weekend takes the cake so far. We started off by leaving Friday morning to come up to the lake. Ansley had been complaining since she woke up that her tummy hurt. Bob and I chalked it up to her being constipated. Not true. We had gotten halfway up here and she decided to christen the car. We stopped at some nasty gas station which had no Lysol wipes or disinfectant. We cleaned everything up as good as we could then got her in some clean clothes...still hoping that she just ate something wrong. Nope!! We pulled into the drive and she puked again. Luckily, Bob was in the process of getting her out of the car. Ansley had the 12 hour stomach bug. So we contained her in a room and carried a bottle of Lysol around. Saturday morning she was feeling much better!! It is amazing how little ones bounce back. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she didn't spread her bug to anyone else. Luckily, James and I already had this virus. This weekend Ansley enjoyed many things. She really liked swimming in the lake with daddy. She would go down the kiddie slide and swim. She was able to get Grandad to buy her a doll a Anchorage that wasn't even for sale.
We had been pumping Ansley up all day on Saturday for fireworks! She still wasn't feeling enough to be around people so Bob and I took her onto the lake to watch the fireworks alone. We parked far enough away so we could make a fast exit if need be. We had only been in the boat for about 5 minutes and she was asleep. Bob woke her up when they started. She wasn't impressed. She went in and out of sleep the rest of the time. At one point she asked when we were going to get the fireworks (they were going off right in front of her). She finally said it was time to go to the cabin and get in her bed.
James has been on the move, except no really. He thinks that whoever holds him is his saucer. He turns around and flings himself to grab things all the while someone is holding him. His favorite thing is to stand. In his world there is no need to sit down he just wants to stand up and jump. Try holding a twenty pound weight for some time. He is at such a cute stage. He will imitate or at least try to imitate noises that you make at him. He can recognize people and gets so excited when they come through the room. He thinks Ansley is the funniest thing and I am pretty sure she enjoys making him laugh. Luckily, he is too heavy for her to attempt to move him. However, biggin has not been sleeping at night. He gets up at 1 am and then is up on the hour for the rest of night. I think it is a combo of teething and formula. I am really thinking of buying a mosquito net and putting his bed outside next time we are at the lake. He relaxes the moment he hits the porch!
