Bob and I went to Nashville for our 5th Anniversary. What a fun town. We stayed at the Grand Ole Opry Hotel. The hotel was like nothing I have ever seen before. We played downtown and went to the Country music hall of fame. It was great!! However, the Grand Ole Opry takes the cake. WE saw several bluegrass groups. Some of the big names were Diamond Rio and Joe Diffy. Unfortunately we went the same weekend all the big names were in Las Vegas for the CMA's. It didn't matter the groups were all so good. The hotel was amazing!!! The best part was the fact that we could sleep in and not have to do anything or be anywhere. Below are some beautiful pictures from inside the hotel.

I think life in the Crutchfield house is getting back to normal. James was unable to escape the illness lurking in our house. He had his first ear infection Monday. Last Sunday was his baptism. It was a wonderful service with tons of family. Unfortunately, he was not feeling well. I did not realize this until 9pm on Sunday. He pretty much screamed the entire night and early morning away. Finally on Monday morning I realized he might just have an ear infection.Poor guy. I didn't realize how sick he felt until he started feeling better Tuesday. He started cooing and smiling again. What a relif!!

These past two weeks have been crazy. Ansley had a fever for two weeks on and off. Finally on Thursday Bob stayed home with her and decided she needed to go to the doctor. She told Bob her tummy her and she didn't feel good. She had been telling me that her tummy had been hurting but I just past it off as nothing. Was I wrong....She had an ear infection along with strep throat. Dr. Wilburn told us that when the little ones say their tummy hurts that usually means strep throat. Live and learn I guess. This is Ansley's first ear infection. I am greatful that we have gone 2 years without this. Luckily James is clear from getting strep throat. Evidently babies don't have the enzymes that get infected or something like that.
I am on a mission right now to get a playground set. My brothers neighbor has offered us a really nice one for free. Unfortunately my neighborhood has stupid convents about playsets. Our entire backyard faces the street therefore we have a big problem. It is unreal how stupid this has turned into. I will get that playset in my yard one way or another.

Before I start my vent I have to say that I am blessed to have a job during these times. With that said...my school has become utterly ridiculous. I am not going to name names. The authority figures in the school building has decided that the teachers need to be treated like high schoolers. First thing that irritated me was that we were told we were not allowed to leave the school building. On Friday, one of my assistants goes and gets us lunch. It is during their break and doesn't take away from academics. We were informed that if we leave the building we will be charged a personal day. Really!! Maybe they just want us to eat the unhealthy crap they feed the kids who will be obese one day if they continue to eat it. The weekly menu consist of chicken fingers, pizza, Fish nuggets, buttered grill cheese, and pizzatas. That is a whole other story. Secondly, I got called to the office on Friday. Yes I was told that I had not signed in and needed to. School had not started and I had signed in about 10 minutes before the call. So I walk up there very irritated and feeling like I am about to get detention. I politely said I signed in at 7:30. So she goes to my name and oh there is the check mark. I was told that it was a little bit below the line. Seriously!! Thank goodness my hormones aren't prego anymore. I think steam came out of my ears. I sarcastically said do I need to report to Saturday school for that one. She just kind of smirked. Whatever!! I am really hoping that the county gets out of this debt before Ansley gets into public school. If not I may have to find alternatives. It is amazing what they are taking away from the schools and teachers to cut costs. If I had a child in school right now I would be pissed.

This week has been rather quiet. Ansley has decided that her closet is the next best thing to sleeping in her bed. We found her in there one night asleep on the closet floor (she doesn't have doors to her closet just curtains). The next night I found her in her closet laying down. I was able to get a pillow and blanket for her. WE aren't fighting this losing battle. So yet again she is asleep in her closet. It is kind of cute. I might have to get a picture of her.
Ansley has been really florishing at school. She is just a sponge right now. James has a lot to say these days. I don't ever remember Ansley being such a chatter box. He will sit there and talk and then start running. He really likes talking to my dad. I am pretty sure he giggled at me on Thursday morning. Too cute!!
Life has finally calmed down here and is getting in a normal routine. Ansley and James have been taking a bath together at night. It is so sweet.

SNOW!!
What a great way to end the weekend with a little bit of snow. We had a very uneventful weekend until tonight. We pretty much laid around all weekend. It was very nice. We had a scare tonight. We had just finished dinner and was heading upstairs to give the kids a bath. I was a couple steps ahead of Ansley. I heared Ansley start screaming as she was coming up the stairs. Not sure what she did but she hurt something coming up the stairs. If she is like me she slipped and bumped her leg. Bob and I both went running. He got her and she went into the silent scream. We always have to remind her to breathe when she cries. This time she had a piece of food in her mouth and was not breathing. We put her on the bed to look at her leg and realized she was turning a shade of purple. My first instinct was to throw her over my arm and beat her back. The food came flying out and gave Oscar a nice treat. That was extremely scary for all of us. Of course I turned around and James was face down on the bed. Luckily, I had just tossed him there for less than 10 seconds. Poor guy. Looking back I don't think you are suppose to hit a choking child on the back I think that is old school way. But it worked that is all that matters. It takes a scary few seconds to make you realize how blessed you are!!
Onto a good note. We had snow today and was able to get out in it for some fun!! She loved it. She had such a blast catching the snow on her tongue. Below are some pictures
