Swim meet #1
Ansley's first big swim meet was a success! She had so much fun and did a great job! She swam backstroke ad freestyle.

Summer trip 1
Today we went to the Tellus Museum. If you haven't taken your kids you need to! I would say any child over 4 would like it. If I had to compare this to the Children's Museum, Tellus would win by a mile. The food prices were reasonable, the kids left with a fossil and gem bag, the dinosaurs and aviation museum was interesting, and the backyard fun was a blast!The one con was that it is in Cartersville. The drive was not bad. I guess we picked the best week to go because we had the place to ourselves! Our friends the Hunter's joined us!

Mining for Gems. They gave us a small Baggie that each kid was able to fill it up.
Backyard fun! James loved the barn with all the sound experiments.

The treehouse! The kids laid down and watched different weather activities on the screen. The thunderstorm was fun to watch!

Like his daddy
Henry is just like his daddy in many ways. Two main ways... He loves anything around technology his favorite are computers and Bobs blackberry. Second he is all about how doing what daddy does at the lake...
He wanted to make sure he helped Bob put up the boat this morning. He was holding it with his foot while it was getting pulled up.

Memorial Day weekend
We are up at the lake for the first weekend of the summer, Memorial Weekend. We are headed back in town for Memorial Day to enjoy some neighborhood pool fun and family cookout!
This weekend we enjoyed just sitting back and relaxing while the kids ran around with friends.
This was taken right before he got on the boat for the first time.
He was all about checking it out.
Yes it is 46 degrees and we were probably the only ones on the lake at 7:30.
Then he realized what a boat ride entailed. He wasn't too sure of this. By the end of the weekend he was all about riding on the boat. His approval came when he was dancing on the boat to Journey!

The kids fished all day Saturday. James even managed to catch a snake. Ahh! Yes you read that right. His rod doesn't even have a hook. It has a fake plastic cheese on the end. He threw it out and it landed in the roses right by the stone patio where Laura and I were sitting. I look over about two feet from me wondering what is stuck to the end. Yep a snake grabbed a hold and I went running. The rest of the day I had a stick with me and a garden hoe not to far away.
Daredevil! He hasn't fallen in yet but it is not because of lack of effort.

Goodbye first grade....
Ansley has had an amazing year!! Ansley soaked up everything her Mrs. Mann said during class. She would come home and run down the day for me. Sometimes I would catch her teaching school to James in the playroom.
Today she came off the bus excited yet on edge. She never loses her patience with Henry but the moment she lost it with him I knew it was down hill from there. I almost cried with her because her heart is so big. She loves her teacher and is upset not only that she won't be her teacher next year but that she isn't sure what classroom Mrs. Mann will have. After a rough afternoon she is finally asleep! When Ansley is upset the boys know it and tend to catch on with the mood. Since I was man down tonight I made sure they all went to bed before 7.
I can't believe my girl is a second grader! Simpson is an amazing school! She has achieved so much in one year. We are blessed to live in this community!

Now let the summer begin!!!!
