Spring break with grandparents

While Bob and I were pretending like we could party like we were back in college in Mexico with my two favorite TCU peeps the kids were back in GA partying it up with the in laws!!!!
Ansley informed them of some of the rules I enforce...such as I don't allow Ansley to finish her dinner. Thanks Ans!!! It is more like me begging her to finish dinner. The actual rule is that you must take a no thank you bite. All veggies.. You have to take as many bites as your age.
The kids had a fabulous time. They went to ice cream with all the grandparents and two of Caroline's kids on Friday. I especially lovemy daughters outfit!!!


Then Saturday they went to Stone Mountain.

On Sunday the kids headed to church for an Easter egg hunt.













Ansley managed to eat most of hers before the end of the day. I thin she may have pulled one over on the grandparents. We are so thankful to have all the grandparents in town. Than you Donna and Richard!!

Spring break Wednesday..Zoo!!!!

The kids slowly trickled out of bed today. We packed up and headed to the Atlanta Zoo with Kelley, Preston, and Jacob. The minivan was packed! The weather was perfect and the kids all behaved. I might have to steal Preston.. Such a big help. Preston and Jacob are the most well-behaved boys!! The animals were all out and active, I think they were enjoying the nice weather.

Spring break Monday

The kids and I rolled out of bed around 7:30(yay love sleeping past 7). The kids did a great job playing around the house today.







Spring cleaning started around 9:00. First on the list was Ansley's room. She is a klepto. In the process of rearranging her room I found so much useless stuff. Luckily, she was being entertained in the playroom by James so she couldn't see the garbage bag full of stuff I threw away. Her room looks so nice and organized now. I give it two days before it turns into chaos. Then my friend Kim and her two kids, Hayes and Kate, came over to play. So love spending time with her!! James was a bit of a mess this morning. He and Hayes took on each other twice. It was too Funny. Of course I couldn't tell you how the argument started. But it ended with me telling James to man up. The part we caught was priceless. Hayes hit James then James came back at him with two hands. Then Hayes screamed and James was standing in the play set shacking and silently screaming. Kim, Caroline, and I were laughing. Hayes walked away and James came crying into my arms. James is a size bigger than Hayes, however Hayes walked away the winner. Sorry James but it is true.


Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Hayes. Next time!! Of course Hannah was around so where was Ansley.....










During nap time she even entertained he for a good 20 minutes!! She gets this obsession honestly. Growing up I was right there with the babies.


Why are the girls up during nap time... Because someone decided to pop in to see our house. The master was a mess because that was numb 2 on my list. This family of 5 comes in with grandma. My face was red but what can do. To add to the redness Ansley comes out of he room with just her purple panties on. I just keep waiting for her to grow out of this phase!

Tulip picker

Last night at 1 am I learned how attached James is to his blue blanket. Bob was out of town so I was the only adult in the house. So when a piercing scream came from the hallway I freaked. James was standing at the top of the stairs in a panic! After I got him calm so I could understand his language, I realized it was his blanket. I had washed the blanket because it smelled so bad. Well I fell asleep before I could take it out of the dryer and place it back on him. 1 am lesson learned!!!
Today Bob came home!! After some yard work (me in the yard bob on the couch) and then playtime with daddy on the play set, we headed to the forum to walk around. The kids love walking on the plant bed curbs so that took up a lot of the time. We stopped at La Parilla for some dinner. The kids loved the mariachi band. They wiggled themselves silly!!
We then made one last stop at the water fountain. Unfortunately I didn't bring my good camera so these will have to do.









The flower by James left shoe provides evidence that my child is not the only one who pulls the flowers out of the ground. Fortunately for the Forum my husband got his hands dirty and replanted the tulip back into the ground. This is the after Bob had replanted the tulip. Check out how mischief his face looks after pulling the flower. He was so proud. I on the other hand was embarrassed yet laughing at the stinker.

Donuts, paint, and cupcakes

The kids and I started off the morning with donuts! Enough said. Then I had been on the phone for no longer than 2 minutes, the kids were quiet, all of a sudden James comes to me with bloody looking hands and a blood drench towel. My heart drops and I panic. I rush him into the kitchen only to see the paint mat out. The kids had gotten a hold of the finger paint and mixed the colors. It was paint!!! On a good note they had the sense to put out the paint mat.
Later, I dropped the kids off at my parents house so Caroline and I could do some shopping. James has been obsessed with my dad the past couple days. When we got their house my dad was outside weed eating so of course James was pumped. He watched him from inside the house do the yard. Caroline and I enjoyed some time without the kids and got some goods for our trip!!
My parents must have worn the kids out because they both came back and took naps. After a fun trip to target we made some dinner and then made mini cupcakes.



Yes, James is sporting his favorite baseball team!! Of course the adult hat fit his head perfect!! While I was putting James to bed he noticed Thomas the train on one of his blankets. He spread it onto the floor and sat down on it. He looked up at me and said "I sitting in the train!"
Good news for Ansley, I found out today that she gets to go to SAE next year. I have been waiting to get my approval for the hardship so she doesn't have to go to her home school! One of my babes will be in the same building with me. So blessed!!!
