Fun at home

To start the weekend we headed to my school aka Ansley's future school for a hoe down. Ansley was extremely shy while we were there but boy did she have a mouth full to say afterwards. She even asked when she could go back!!! Mad my heart melt.


Sorry the picture isn't great but all I had was my phone. She did wiggle her hips a tiny bit!! James was tired the entire time we were there but hung in like a trooper!! He even got his groove on with Kristy! (he was showing his hard to get side in this picture).



Saturday was a blink into springtime weather. We got to hang around and play outside. Ansley and Bob went to get my oil changed. She was the managers special with donuts and all.


James and I played around at home. Lots of dancing to Mickey and body slamming from the foot stool to on top of me!

Then onto some outside playground time. And yes those are Ansley's red boots!



Right before he used Ansley and the bag as a punching bag.

Beautiful weekend

This weekend we took full advantage of the beautiful weather. We went to the YMCA for a nice workout, swim lessons for Ansley, and then we played on the playground until lunchtime. Next we went to the forum for lunch and more playtime outside. James learned how to jump over cracks and Ansley enjoyed walking the curbs of the flower beds!!
After lunch we came back for some quiet time and then headed back outside for some play time.
Ansley and James taught me how to play hide n seek.






It was more like I count to 10 and then I turn around to find them, meanwhile James stands up and yells "here I am!"
Ansley has become quite the bike rider. She is flying around the culdesac. She only had one run in with the garage. After I taught her to use the brakes she was off and running.
We got a lot of good playground time.

While I was making dinner the kids were watching TV together. I heard them in the room giggling. This is what I peeked in on!!!

Valentine's Day

Before I start this post I was reminded by my sister that in my last post I forgot to add that we had diet coke and sweet tea around the clock!!!
Now onto Valentine's Day. While James was napping on Sunday, Ansley and I settled down to write 12 valentine cards. This was a painful process. I am not sure how I am going to get through homework next year. However, I set aside my need to make it look perfect and let her be creative.

Weekend away

Last weekend Bob and I escaped away to Rome,Ga for a retreat a marriage retreat at Winshape. We are so blessed to have a group at our church that cherish the gift of marriage!! Winshape is a retreat center located on the campus of Berry College. This center was built by Truit Cathy, the founder of Chickfila. There is no internet, phones, or television on the grounds. There is plenty of cattle, horses, and amazing views to keep one busy. The food was amazing plus there was free IceDream all day. The staff had the same mannerisms as the restaurants. This place was a five star retreat in my book. That was the bonus part. The best part was the time we got to spend together energizing our relationship, enjoying some alone time without kids, and meeting other couples from around the state!

Everytime I walked past the registration hall I was startled that the same man was still feeding the calf. Sorry it isn't the best picture!

After an awesome weekend we came home gathered the kids and went to Taco Mac. We came home only to discover that Oscar took it upon himself to dig through Bob's bag and eat 65 chocolate calcium supplements which were 500 mg each. Did I mention he ate wrapper and all. When we came home I didn't think much of the damage that many vitamins can do to a dog. I bathed the kids and got them ready for bed. Only after feeding Oscar dinner and sitting on the couch 2 hours later did it alarm me that he just ate a whole lot of vitamins. I called the Er vet doctor. We tried to induce vomiting with peroxide but that didn't work so off to the Er at 9:30 on a Sunday night. The moment we got there they whisked him away only to come back 2 minutes later to tell me they induced vomiting and he was puking up a good amount of chocolate and foil!! So I am still not freaking out until they call me back and the doctor talks to me. He makes me realize just how much danger Oscar was in. Oscar spends the night and ends up spending three more days at the vet. finally his numbers are back to normal!! He is back to his active self!! We are so thankful to my mom who helped us out this week with caring for Oscar!!

Daily Thoughts from Ansley

Today was Ansley's first swim lesson. She loved it and coming from two former swimmers we couldn't be more happy!! We went from the YMCA to Moe's. Then each took a child and went our separate ways. I took James to get his hair cut and Bob headed off to the GT basketball game with Ansley. While on the way back from the game Ansley told Bob about the conversation she had with GranDonna. Ansley is collecting pennies for patients at her school. So she brought home a box to collect money. GranDonna explained to her what the campaign is about and read the story about a little boy with Leukemia that was on the box. After dropping GranDonna off at home Ansley recited what she had learned. It went something like this..."the boy on the box is sick with zucchini, however James and I do not have zucchini in us so we are not sick!" There goes any chance of me getting her to eat her vegetables this week.
Later in the afternoon we were kicked out of our house due to another viewing. Last week we had three people come by to see the how so we are still getting tons of traffic with positive feedback!! We decided to meet at the park before heading to my parents house.























Someone needs to explain to me why kids think it is okay to do their business in public restrooms. The are smelly, steamy, and so unclean! So I brave the park bathrooms only to get another wonderful explanation about poop from Ansley. She told me that poop smells. That when James does it it smells. But that daddy has the stinkiest poop. And he takes way to long to do his business (sorry Bob but she said it).
On to a lighter topic...The cutest part of the day had to be date night at Chickfila. All around the country chickfila had a daddy daughter date night. Ansley loved it!!
