When the cousins came over everyone took a cocktail and headed for the boat. I kept James back to give him dinner and a bath. He was a bit cranky and we all know how my family gets when they are hungry!

After he finished eating it was time to be all boy!!

Last Day at the Lake!

Today was our last full day at the lake. We got up and went for a breakfast cruise then headed out for some skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing. Bob got back into the swing of wakeboarding right away. I did some fun skiing. There is something about skiing behind a boat that is just so relaxing!! Then Ansley tried her hand at tubing. She enjoyed it wasn't too impressed with it but I think she did it just to make mommy and daddy happy. We did a lot of swimming today. Ansley has gotten comfortable with jumping into the lake and swimming by herself ( of course life vest is on at all times). She and Bob really enjoy throwing the football and swimming out to get it. James likes to watch on the dock with occasionally jumps to Bob. He tries to keep up with sister on everything. Believe or not he can do most things she does.
We did manage to squeeze in a bear hunt today. Luckily, we came back with only two kids and a dog. Most of the hunt was up hill so we grabbed our bathing suits and headed for the lake.

This afternoon Bob and I took the kids to Anchorage Marina to gas up and get some ice cream. We ended up getting James a youth hat, which he was in desperate need of, and Ansley got a cute cow girl straw hat! They enjoyed there push up pops almost as much as the Lab and the Ants did. After leaving our mark at the Marina we headed home for some swimming and cooking out with the Cousins.

BabyLand General

Today I made the family pack up and head to Cleveland, GA which is only about 40 minutes from the Lake. We went to check out the new location of BabyLand General better known in Ansley's world as "Baby Doll Heaven." This is the second year we have enjoyed Cabbage Patch world. However, this was the first year in the new mansion! I do have to say it was beautiful but the old place had a lot more character when it came to the displays of the babies. However, the trip was of course worth it! James enjoyed himself. He really enjoyed the babies in the patches and mostly loved running around the open floor plan! He did walk away with a new pink cell phone and car keys. Ansley, of course, wanted to take every baby home with her. She was all over the place. She loved the babies with the paceys in there mouth! She wasn't really cool with the boxed up babies but Bob and I finally talked her into one of the affordable babies. She did get her first black baby. As msot of you know her she loves her black babies!! It is a premie named Remmington.

Bar fight

Well the day was suppose to be uneventful and low key. Around 12:30 that all changed on the way back from a quiet family time swim!! James was walking up the stairs and got bit by something. All I know is I heard a terrifying screech and went running. I felt so helpless because he couldn't tell me what happened. I saw a spot on his face and had to guess. He didn't fall so it must have been a bit. About 5 minutes later the left side of his face was puffy. Being the over reactor I can be sometimes. I just thought we are in the mountains far from the city and my childs face is looking like he just lost a fight. Once his eye started swelling we were off to the Mountain ER. This ER had about 4 beds and they notified me they were slammed. As I sat in the waiting room with one other man who was waiting on his wife I was thankful not to be in the city with 40 other people in an ER with who only knows what kind of viruses. So as much as I made fun of it I was thankful to have a 19 month old in the ER with no one around. The nurse checked him out and the swelling had gone down. All in all he was stung probably by a bee. I was informed later on that Bob and his dad swell with bee stings. Good to know for future times!! However, he was walking around dopped up on Benedryl and looking like he had been in a bar fight! Then about 45 minutes later he was running around like he had been given a cup of coffee!

Not only was his face swollen but he had a nice bruise on his right forehead!

This is our last big lake adventure before school starts for both the kids and I. Mt. Pisgah starts school August 1st, so the kids will be getting back into the routine next week. James starts 3 days a week and Ansley is in the 4's room (Pre-K). I can't believe this time next year she will be getting ready to start Kindergarten!!!
We have been playing at the lake this week and will return over the weekend. Bob and I came up on Friday and left the kids in Atlanta with his parents. We enjoyed having two nights off. I got to sleep until 9 both mornings. It was amazing. However, by the second day I was begining to miss my little ones. Bob and I got to go eat at the club which was so yummy!! The kids came up on Sunday to celebrate Bob's birthday and so did my parents. It was nice having some relaxing time with my parents. We were able to go on numerous boat rides and enjoy just sitting in the boat house. However, the heat and muggy air followed them up here from Atlanta! Tonight at dinner Ansley told us she missed her Grandad's and Grandma. I think she really enjoyed having both grandparents (minus Bob's dad who sadly had to work) in one place! Today we visited INK which is a childrens interactive play warehouse. If you haven't been to this place you must go. I thought it was going to be like imagine it..not even close. Even James had a blast. My mom and I were able to split our time between the girls and him. This place was like walking into a little town for kids. They had a dress up stage, dentist office, vet, resturant, pediatrians, hair salon, and even a bank where the kids could get play money out of a real atm. The admissions is $8 for kids 3 and up and adults. Two and under are free.
