4 weeks old!!

Today James is 4 weeks old. We went back to the doctor yesterday because he is still not comfortable after feedings. His reflux seems to be different than Ansley's. Ansley pucked a lot!! James tends to dribble instead of projectile. He also seems to be in a lot more pain. So we went to see Dr. Wilburn...again. She is very patient with me. While we were there James blew up a diaper and peed out of his diaper all over me. Then I put him on the table to change him and he pucked all over the table. All Dr. Wilburn and I could do was laugh. The smell that came from that room was nasty...Soy milk and poop..yummy. Dr. Wilburn increased his meds and the plan is to hopefully get him back on breast milk next Saturday. Good news is James weighs over 11 pounds now. Big guy likes to eat. I did realize we were over feeding him by 4 ounces.. not good for the reflux. Otherwise we are doing great here. Ansley started Mt. Pisgah and is loving it. I feel much more at ease leaving her at this school all day. She gets to play with Frances in the morning and at recess. Plus she gets Spanish and Ballet. I laugh at the ballet thing because it just doesn't run in her jeans (the gracefulness).

Today was the first real good day. Both kids were calm and on their game. I do believe this day was 1 out of 7 and that means that I am in for it. Ansley's new saying for the week is "Hey guys, whatcha doing?" She also still thinks that James is the best thing to happen to her. She wakes up asking for him and has to say good night to him every night. They are so sweet together. Today I was able to get some good pictures of James. Tomorrow he will be 4 weeks old.
Ansley starts Mt. Pisgah on Wednesday!! We decided to move her to the same school as Frances. Mostly because it will make my morning a lot less stressful because Caroline will be taking them to school. They are in different classes but will still see each other throughout the day for chapel and recess.

Life is going here. Ansley is still scared to poop on the potty and James loves blowing up his diaper after I have just changed him. Sleep is becoming more of a precious moment around here. Boys are definitely a different species. When Ansley was a little tyke I could read her cues. James is really trying his best to rock my world and make my hair get gray fast!!! I hate not being on a schedule. Luckily, I haven't gone crazy yet due to naptime interventions given by my mom. She has been a godsend this week. Last night we did pretty good. James had his witching hour from 7 to 9 pm. Then was out until 3 am. He immediately went back to sleep at 3:30 and woke up at 7:15. I am sure that tonight will be a completely different story. It is hard to imagine going back to work in a little over a week. I do have to give props out to whoever came up with the sling. I use to make fun of people who use the sling however, I take it all back today!! James loves the sling. Below are some pictures of little man. I forgot to swaddle him during this nap so he broke out of the blanket and was going for a touch down.

First day

TOday was my first day without Bob. He had to go back to work. I have to admit I was frightened this morning. James slept a good 5 hours straight last night and then got up for a quick eat and slept three more hours. Ansley and I took James to the doctor this morning due to the fact that he was in so much pain this weekend. I love our pediatrician.. she suggested we try giving him Maloox every six hours and we started prevacid and stopped Zantac. Ansley was on prevacid so I know it works. Tonight will be the test. I do have to brag Ansley was a great toddler today. She really stepped up and behaved all day. I do have to admit that I spent a lot of time at my mom's house today. I dropped Ansley off for a nap and went to lunch with James and my two friends Kelley and Claudia. I then went to Mt. Pisgah and signed Ansley up to start school full time in two weeks with her cousin Frances. I am super pumped about this school move. I think she will really enjoy this school.
I do have a funny story about Ansley. Sunday we were at the grocery store doing our weekly shopping. Ansley decides that her pull up is full of pee and lifts up her dress and starts to pull her pull up down in the middle of the store. It took us a minute to convince her to leave it on. So she does then we get home and go across the street to talk to our neighbor who has a two year old son. I turn around and Ansley has her dress up and is trying to take off her pull up off again. I am not that surprised because she does like being naked... who could blame her.

Craziness

I haven't posted a blog in a while due to the massive amount of craziness at this house. Having two kids is not as hard as some people say however having an infant in the house again just strengthens my decision that two kids are enough. James is battling reflux right now. He has been put on medicine but it does not seem to be the right dosage. Of course, I have come to this realization over the weekend when nothing can be done. It breaks your heart to hear him grunting all night long. He is terribly uncomfortable. I keep reminding myself that he will not remember this time. Feeding time is terrible for him. It is painful to watch him eat. You can bet I will be on the phone first thing tomorrow getting an appointment.
Tomorrow is my first day home alone with Ansley and James. Frightening for sure. But it should be fun. We are in a pretty good routine right now. Ansley has been a really good girl. She has enjoyed having Bob and I at home. She has really become a daddy's girl. Pictures will be coming soon.
