Not only was it the second day of school but it was Ansley's 7th Birthday. This girl was on a high!! There was no stomping on her parade! She woke up that morning and ran to her present. She had definitely earned this doll. Right after Christmas Ansley became aware of the American Doll store. I had held her off for 6 years and she finally found the magazine in the mail. So I explained to her how precious and special these dolls are (and not to mention the price tag). We told her if she wanted a doll she would have to earn it by reading the entire series of a girl. She chose Caroline because that is her middle name (and on my sisters behalf she does love her aunt). At first I thought this would be a great idea because it would take her a while and we could make it to her birthday. Nope she flew through the 6 chapter books. Luckily, she is a pretty easy going kid and we held her off until her day! Needless to say there was no holding her back on her birthday morning.
One happy girl!! She hasn't put that doll down since!

Ansley was very specific this year at both her family and friends birthday. She wanted my dad to make his special cake for the family party!

Birthday Celebration #2: Friends party
Ansley wanted an "American Girl doll" party so we asked each girl to bring their favorite doll. Kelley was so gracious enough to do 13 dolls hair! And she even pierced Ansley's dolls ears.
The girls made hair things for themselves and their dolls. They decorated outfits for the dolls too.
Of course the kids immediately jumped in the castle. Since we now live in the new Seattle, it poured down rain while most of the party was jumping. THey had such a blast. This is Bob going out to spoil the fun:) We only had to dry a couple of girls outfits. Luckily, we had some crafts to do and then the rain stopped and it was time to jump again.
Instead of a cake, Ansley insisted on having cake pops made by a high school friend. Ansley was at a shower for my girlfriend Kelley (who is pictured above doing doll hair) and fell in love with the cake pops that her maid of honor made! This was Ansley's first request when figuring out what to do for her birthday!
